Planet Tracker and Carbon Tracker

Alice is the Chair of the Tracker Group (formerly Investor Watch) which was set up more than 10 years ago to try to alert investors to the long-term risks of investing in companies which cause climate change and environmental degradation. Carbon Tracker has made considerable progress in changing the dialogue for many investors on climate change so that it is now more widely recognised as an issue that will fundamentally affect the performance of their portfolios. Carbon Tracker coined the term ‘stranded assets’ and ‘the carbon bubble’ to highlight the financial risks. Planet Tracker, a more recently-launched sister company, is doing the same in terms of exploring and explaining how damage to natural assets such as forests, fish stocks, soil and water supplies translates into real losses for investors in companies that do not take action to protect them.
